When a home is in need of some good preparation and less than 10% of the surface needs to be brought back to raw wood we consider this a light restoration. All surfaces will be scraped, orbital sanded and sanded between all coats, planed\/stripped using a Hitachi paint shaver pro and in necessary areas digitized heat guns will be used to meticulously remove old failing coating from contours and mouldings.<\/p>\n
All raw wood will be oil primed with two to three coats of oil primer with sanding between coats. All areas that need caulking will receive elastomeric caulking so that it can expand and contract throughout seasonal changes without failing or cracking.<\/p>\n
Lastly when wood is too rotten to repair it will be replaced and when it can be repaired industrial grade two part epoxy sculpt wood fillers will be used to create repairs that will stand the test of time. All of these steps of preparation are required before the painting starts and all surfaces need to be sanded between coats of paint to obtain optimum finish and the strongest adhesion.<\/p>\n
